The Worthers Spam Filter is a smart and reliable filtering solution. Not only does it protect against spam, viruses, phishing and malware, it will also queue your email for up to 4 days if your mail server should become unavailable.
It is smart as it has an extremely high 99.98% accuracy rate and very low false-positive rate (very good at not stopping legitimate email).
It’s also reliable as it is set up within a load balanced server cluster so has multiple redundancy and able to handle millions of emails daily.
Using the intuitive control panel, domain and email owners are able to tweak settings, whitelist or blacklist addresses, view the mail delivery queue and set up reports.
Email Users
If your domain administrator has created an account for you, you will be able to login at
http://spamfilter.worthers.net to manage your filtering settings and reports. You need to use your email address to login and your password. If you don’t know your password or this is the first time you have logged in, use the ‘retrieve login link’ to reset it. Please note the reset link that is sent to you is only valid for 15 minutes.
Once logged in you will be taken to your dashboard. From here you can view logs, caught spam, report spam, and change your report settings. If you would like to receive a report (either daily or weekly) showing quarantined messages, then you can also create a recipient report.
Domain Administrator
As a domain administrator you are able to login at
http://spamfilter.worthers.net and manage your filtering settings for your domain. You can also view the delivery queue, manage users and change the ongoing route for where email is then delivered.
Using the smart automatic recipient facility, you do not need to add recipients manually. As long as the destination mail server will accept email for that recipient, email will be automatically filtered and passed on.
However if you would like users to be able to login to see their own quarantine or tweak their settings then you can easily add them as a user. If you have several you can import them from a csv file.
If you would like your users to receive a report (either daily or weekly) showing quarantined messages, then you can also create recipient reports.
TIP: if you add a recipient for the report it will also create the user account if it doesn't exist so you don't have to do these actions separately.
For your email to flow through the filter you will need to ensure your MX records are pointing to the ones we provide in your welcome details email.
FUNCTIONS OF THE SPAM FILTER
If genuine emails are getting caught in the spam filter then you need to train the filter to accept these. On the right hand side of the email in the filter there is a drop down box if you select release and train this will train the filter to accept these emails when they come through in the future.
To help ensure proper delivery of emails to your inbox, you can add senders of legitimate emails to your Whitelist tool. Also an recipient or sender can be blocked in the control panel of the filter.
